① DMX Console
The console generates a DMX512 data stream — a serial protocol sending 512 channels of data (0–255 per channel) at 250 kbps over an RS-485 differential pair.
② Fixture 1 — Address 1
Set to start address 1, it reads channels 1–4: R, G, B, W. It passes the entire DMX packet downstream to the next fixture.
③ Fixture 2 — Address 5
Set to start address 5, it ignores channels 1–4 and reads only channels 5–8 for its own RGBW values.
④ Line Termination
A 120Ω resistor at the end of the daisy chain prevents signal reflections. The entire universe refreshes ~44 times per second, ensuring flicker-free dimming.
